Waxing Hair Removal – Effective But Is It Safe?
What most people are concerned about when it comes to waxing hair removal is if this is safe to use. In most cases, waxing can be applied to most parts of the body but to be sure, you can also test a small area on the skin first. Waxing is also not advised to some people. According to some doctors, this is not advisable for those who have diabetes, varicose veins and have poor blood circulation as this may lead to infections. Those who are taking medications namely, Retin-A, Renova, Differin and Accutane are also not advised to use this because these medications may have a negative side effect on the person. And you should not use this on areas which have warts, pimples, moles, rashes, irritated skin and if you have sunburn. And this should never be applied to your nipples.
You have two options when it comes to waxing. You can choose between a hot wax and cold waxes. With a hot wax hair removal, the hot wax will just be spread thinly on the skin. The hair is then removed from roots to tip when you rip the wax. Cold waxes also known as Persian waxing makes use of pre-coated strips which can be easily applied to the skin. The hair will then stick to the wax and you just have to rip the wax swiftly.
Though at times, you may see redness or bumps on your skin after this but this will only last for a few hours. To lessen the pain, you can also press hard on the skin as soon as the wax is removed. You can also rub ice cubes on the affected area so your skin will not be irritated. Hard wax hair removal is really effective but this may not be advisable for all. This depends on your skin type, your tolerance to pain, the texture of your hair and many other things.
