Ankle Liposuction, Actively Fighting Against The “Cankles” Syndrome

Author Timothy Carpenter    Category Liposuction

Our ankles are expected to be the thinnest part of our legs, the way our wrists bones’ prominently show with our arms. But if your ankles are just as plump as your calve is not right. Having a cankle – the fluid, joint appearance of the ankle to the calf – may be difficult to admit for your part. But you have to get used to the term because some may be too unforgiving by calling you a cow right then and there. There’s nothing left to blame though, other than your genetic predisposition to developing cankles. But constantly whining about it won’t do you any good unless you make a move and have an ankle liposuction.

Believe it or not, fat ankles or cankles aren’t necessarily the result of an unhealthy diet that resulted in the deposition of fat in these unlikely areas. You might be surprised to find that not all people with cankles are fat or overweight. The condition is actually a consequence of one’s genetic predisposition to it. As a hereditary condition, you are then bound to more likely have cankles if someone in your family also has them.

Liposuction on ankles isn’t anything new when it comes to the treatment of cankles but it is a delicate procedure that involves a cosmetic surgeon with prior experience in it. Both our ankles are very sensitive areas to trauma, as they are the resting grounds of a pool of sensitive veins. If not handled properly, liposuction in these areas might cause damage to these veins and leave permanent scars in the area. A good surgeon will be careful with this procedure and will perform it at a slower rate. The surgeon will also be expected to use small cannulas for the small area, and be less aggressive in suctioning fat to avoid causing damage.

Sad to say, not all cases of cankles are due to fat. There are some cases wherein the fat appearance of the ankles is the result of a bone prominence in these areas that are also genetic. In these cases, liposuction ankles can do nothing more since there’s no fat to begin with. But the procedure will do wonders if fat is found to be the main culprit behind your ankles, and you’ll be astounded by the profound results shown on ankle lipsuction before and after pictures.

Ankle liposuction is your only option for cankles or fat ankles, since limiting exercise and weight loss to your ankles is practically impossible. When you find a reliable cosmetic surgeon that is capable of performing this procedure with great care, you really have nothing to worry about.
